Process I started with the hardrest part of the costume: the mask. At the time I was graduating from highschool so I used the school art studio to mold the mask and ears out of earthenware clay. I was sure to leave little holes around the edge of the mask and ears so I could later attatch it to the fur mantle. Then I painted both in acrylic paint because its very durable and forgiving when you make mistakes. After I was satisfied with that I glazed it lightly and ordered a sheepskin throw rug on eBay. When it arrived I sewed it to the mask using the little holes in the mask and ears using industrial twine. The rest of the costume was pretty easy sewing since its supposed to look scruffy.

Inspiration Miyazaki has always made great animes. Don't let anybody talk you out of liking his work just because its "mainstream"! I like San's character for many valid reasons, but let me just point out: homegirl gets to ride wolf gods. Need I say more?
